My rabbits love this product, noticed that the gut micro biomes seem more settled

I use this every day for my rabbits and it’s very good if you have older rabbits. It has fibre in it which rabbits need and lack of fibre in a rabbits diet usually leads to issues to it’s like a prevention method to ensure your rabbit has enough fibre in their diet no matter what. Highly recommend to use this daily. I would say use 1 scoop per rabbit per day

This product really helped when one of our labradors started worrying at his rear end & scooting and all that goes with it. Trip to vets - dog has a bit of an infection and whilst the vet sorted out his back end and so on - this product enabled the dog to safely and comfortably properly evacuate his bowels without discomfort or strain or stress as it is added to his food.

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding Protexin Pro-Fibre for Dogs and Cats, including answers from our team.
Gerry Beaton
Is this a suitable equivalent for Vetpro pellets for digestion and anal gland congestion?
While Protexin Pro-Fibre is formulated to support digestive function and may assist with anal gland health, it is not specifically marketed as an equivalent to Vetpro pellets. Vetpro pellets are designed to promote healthy anal glands and support digestion, but without detailed information on their specific formulation, it's challenging to make a direct comparison

My dog is 25kg what is the daily dose for him please?
For a dog between 20-35kg you will need to give 2 measures (20g)

Is this product useful in cases of megacolon/ constipation? Will the additional fibre not block them up?
Fibre helps nornalise stool production. This can lead to firmer stools so it is worth discussing this with your vet to ensure it is safe. If they have advised use of the product though then it is suitable.

My dog has a grain allergy, would the Protexin Advanced be a better option than the Protexin pro fibre.
Thanks
Pro-Fibre contains wheat derivatives, so would not be suitable in your dog. Pro-Fibre Advanced is made in a wheat-free formulation, though it is of note that it does contain oat feed and maize, so it would depend on your dog’s specific allergies as to whether it would be appropriate.

Can I give the daily dose twice in a day on any one day, not as a regular thing. My dog is just getting over loose stools but not quite there yet. I wondered if giving a double dose today only would help things along a bit quicker.
It is not advised to feed higher than the recommend daily dosing. If the stools are still loose after 7 to 10 days of treatment then it is advised to contact your vet for further advice. If scavenging related or due to a dietary indiscretion then it should resolve within this period on a gut supplement like this. If long term use is needed this it is recommended to chat to your vet to rule out underlying causes first.

My dog has real problems with grain in her diet. It causes many flare ups of GI pain and discomfort. Would this be classified as “grain” as it contains wheat and would it likely cause issues?
This product contains Wheat Feed which is grain based. If you are looking for a grain free probiotic then we recommend ReguTum Gastrointestinal Powder as this is grain free.

Our Yorkshire terrier was recommended this product by our vet now since we started using it his been suffering with diarrhoea and vomiting can this be the product causing it as he was ok before
This product is intended to help support the guts and resolve issues like vomiting/diarrhoea. It is a supplement so does not have any listed side effects, however if your dog is intolerant to one of the ingredients within it then it could cause the signs you describe. I strongly advise you see your vet who advised you to use the product. It should not be causing the signs you are seeing.

I have 8 months old cat who has constipation, suffering cat flu & also she always scooting her bottom on the carpet. I'm sure that she haven't worms and fleas as de-worming on schedule. Due to she has constipation & car flu, so she've been taken "Purina Pro Plan Fortiflora" & "Flumax", seems improving a bit. However, she still scooting her bottom on the carpet & varies poo daily.
Can she have it with those supplement together? is it helps to stop her scooting?? thanks
If your cat is prone to constipation then I would avoid giving Protexin Pro-Fibre. The increased fibre it provides is great for loose stools but it will firm the constipated stools even further which may not be beneficial.
There can be many possible causes to scooting, including anal gland issues. I recommend discussing the problem with your vet so they can diagnose the underlying issue. If the anal glands are diagnosed as the underlying cause and there is no constipation present then Protexin Pro-Fibre can help to treat the issue.

Hi just received a tub of pro fibre after being recommended it by our vet to help with our Bulldogs anal glands. Daft question but do you suggest adding it to his morning meal or evening? Or does it not matter? Thank you.
Those dose can be given morning or evening or split between both meals, whatever is preferred. The only requirement is you need to make sure the entire daily dose is given within one 24 hour period.

When is the expiry date and how frequent do i feed this to my rabbit please?
Unfortunately we cannot advise on specific expiries, but we guarantee the expiry date will be greater than 6 months from time of ordering.
This product should only need to be given if your rabbit has intestinal upsets, such as diarrhoea, or if advised by your vet. It can also be used in the long term to prevent intestinal problems.
